The Institute for Strategic Policy (ISP) is an international think tank foundation based in Bangkok, Thailand. We focus on articulating policy recommendations to governments, corporates and social organisations with a variety of strategic planning tools.
ISP provides thought leadership and policy strategy in a wide range of areas, including geopolitical, geoeconomics, international business strategy, climate change, civil affairs, national and regional diplomacy and security.
By fostering dialogue, research, critical thinking and analysis, ISP seeks to contribute to the development of informed and effective policies that address the complex challenges facing the region and the world.
First established under the name Center for Strategic Policy in May 2025, the non-profit think tank has since earned the “foundation’ status in May 2026.
ISP’s inaugural Board of Advisors comprises eminent experts in the areas of foreign affairs, regionalism, economics, trade and business, civil society and communications.

The vision of the Institute for Strategic Policy Foundation (ISP) is to become a leading international think tank, based in Southeast Asia, renowned for its intellectual rigor, policy impact, and commitment to public service.
The mission of ISP is to:

Diplomacy, defense, security cooperation, non-proliferation, and emerging security threats, both traditional and non-traditional

International trade and investment, global and regional supply chains, finance, and regional economic integration

International competitiveness strategy, sustainable business practices, and the role of the private sector in development

Climate change, technology advancement, pandemic, data sovereignty
Activities of ISP concentrate on a wide range of research, analysis, engagement and
advisory services that would respond to the needs of decision makers in all sectors,
which include:

Short, accessible papers that provide timely analysis of current policy issues

In-depth studies on specific topics, based on empirical evidence and theoretical frameworks

Events that bring together policymakers, academics, and practitioners to discuss pressing issues

Professional and business diplomacy, etc

Upon requests from interested parties, strategic policy advisory service will be provided, both in the form of policy papers and training

ISP actively engages policymakers, business leaders, academics, fellow think-tanks,
civil society organisations, and the general public through a variety of channels,

Providing expert commentary and analysis to the media

Organizing lectures, seminars, and debates on important topics

Using social media platforms to disseminate research findings and engage with the public

Collaborating with other think tanks, government agencies, corporate entities, universities, social and international organizations
ISP is governed by the Board of Directors, comprising distinguished individuals from various fields, including academia, government, business, and civil society. The work of the Board of Directors will be supported by the Board of Advisors, comprising of distinguished and experienced individuals who would make themselves available to ISP as required. The Board of advisors provides the overall policy direction for ISP, implementation of which is overseen by the ISP Executive Committee. The Executive Director of ISP ensures efficient management and operation of the research team and administrative staff. The operation and projects of ISP are funded through a combination of grants, donations, and revenue from research and consulting services.
