Indonesia–Thailand Retreat Explores Ways to Advance Strategic Partnership
H.E. Hari Prabowo, the Indonesian ambassador to Thailand, recently hosted a retreat with a dozen of Thai academics to explore further suggestions to advance Indonesian-Thai relations.
H.E.Santo Darmosumarto, Director General of Asia, Pacific, and Africa of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, flew in to join the event held at Phrya Palazzo Hotel on the Chao Phrya River.
The group explored the bilateral and regional agenda as key members of Asean.
Online scams, trafficking, economic cooperation to strengthen regional supply chains and people-to-people contacts were among the themes explored for pro-active policy initiatives.
The retreat followed the recent official visit of Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul to Jakarta. where both he and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto pledged to advance the two countries’ strategic partnership.
Two of ISP board members – Kavi Chongkittavorn and Pana Janviroj were among the Thai participants who also included academics from Kasetsart, Thammasat, Rangsit, Chiang Mai , Chualalongkorn universities.
