Hon. Mr. Weerasak Kowsurat
Weerasak Kowsurat is a prominent thought leader in Thailand. He has served in key positions such as Minister of Tourism and Sports, Vice Minister for Culture, Vice Minister for Social Development and Human Security, and Deputy Secretary General to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs. He also served as a Senator, Chairman of the Board of the Sports Authority of Thailand, Chairman of the Board of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Secretary-General for the Federation of Thai Film, Motion Pictures and Contents Association and Executive Director of the International Institute for Trade and Development (ITD). Weerasak was twice elected as a Member of the Thai Parliament and, at which time, served as the youngest Secretary to the President of the Thai National Assembly. Weerasak is also a strong advocate of environment conservation efforts and the promotion of the rights and protection of women and children. Weerasak received his B.A. in Law from Thammasart University, Master of Comparative Law (M.C.L.) from Southern Methodist University, an LL.M. degree from Harvard University and a Diploma in Comparative Law from South Western Legal Foundation, Dallas, Texas.
